Women may have witnessed man 'acting inappropriately' near Scunthorpe town centre

Two women in Scunthorpe who may have witnessed an incident near the town centre are being asked to contact police.

Police are investigating what took place in the Frances Street area about 2.20pm on Monday (February 18).

A man was reported to them for "acting inappropriately" and officers believe two women may be possible witnesses.

One of the women is described as being in her 40s with grey or fair hair. She was wearing a brown jacket with fur around the hood and dark trousers.

She was carrying shopping bags and may also have had a trolley with her.

The other woman is described as being in her 30s, with brown hair in ponytail.

She was wearing dark clothing but had a pink top or jumper under her coat.

Police stress the women are not suspects but may be able to help officers with the investigation.

They are asked to call police on 101, quoting log 461 of 20 February 2013.

A man was arrested by police and has been released on bail, pending further enquiries.
