In the Mixed Pairs 12.30 League, Warwick Wooldridge's team have taken an early lead over second-placed Geoff Hobbs's team, both having won their two matches.

Zoe and Arthur Hewitt tried hard to claw their way back into their game against Julia and Clive Sweeting.

But it was the Sweeting duo who stamped their authority on the match and finished with a winning score of 18-11 shots.

Mixed Pairs 2.30pm (Monday) Division One sees Mary Wall's team basking at the top, with the teams of Alex Mullin, Bill Jackson and Len Lammas shadowing and all having taken full points from their first two matches.

Mavis Whitworth and Bill Jackson faced a game against Rita Davey and Ralph Tong in which only one shot determined the eventual winners.

The former pair took an early 14-3 shots advantage, but Davey and Tong had a resurgence of form.

In a dramatic finish they scored six shots across the two last ends to lose this intriguing match by 16 to 15 shots.

The Division Two table is being led by Les Adlard's team, followed by the unbeaten pairings of Mick Hare, Ruby Heatley and Jim Sugden.

Ann Frazer and Neil Berry played against Margaret and Jim Sugden in a game of just 13 ends.

Although Frazer and Berry put up a strong fight, the Sugdens maintained their form and ran out 16-10 winners.

Mixed Pairs 2.30pm (Friday) Division One has the Len Lammas pair with an unbeaten record.

In-form Meg Gall and Stan Shellard proved too strong for Ron and Geraldine Southwick. In the final three ends, although the Southwicks scored four shots to their opponents' nil, Gall and Shellard ran out the winners by 20 to 12 shots.

In Division Two, Rita Davey and partner are currently the only unbeaten team.

Rita and John Davey held their nerve to win an extremely close encounter against Dorothy Jerrison and Dennis Chambers 13-10.

The Ladies League is headed by Meg Gall's team followed by the Barbara Sims and Greta Deboer teams.
