DEFENDER Andrew Wright is now enjoying one of his best runs in the team for Scunthorpe United.

He has started the last six games after being called back early from his loan spell at Grimsby Town.

And he believes that the Iron now need to put together a similarly consistent run of back-to-back victories to help claw their way out of relegation trouble.

That though has to start with an improvement to that wretched home form against Burnley on Saturday.

"It really is hard to pinpoint the difference we are finding between playing home and away," he confessed.

"It is still 11 v 11, I'm not sure why we have been struggling for results at Glanford Park.

"To survive in this league we need to be putting in back-to-back performances.

"There have been games this season where we have done really, really well.

"Unfortunately we have not been able to back those games up.

"That is desperately what we need now – two or three games where we are picking up points."

Wright himself has never quite managed to hold down a regular first team spot in the three years he has been at Glanford Park.

But he is pleased to have the chance to show what he can do.

"I am reasonably pleased with my own form – but that is not as important to me as the team doing well," he insisted.
