X-Factor star Jake Quickenden climbs quite a few rungs up football ladder
X Factor talent Jake Quickenden started by boosting his blossoming singing career at the weekend - and now he's moved well up the ladder in non-league football.
Jake, from Bottesford, a lifeguard at Scunthorpe Pods, who reached the last six in the boys' section of the TV talent show, has been played Scunthorpe Sunday League football.
But now he has signed for Evo-Stik League Northern Premier side Frickley Athletic.
The forward signed for the Yorkshire side after giving his new team-mates some songs during training.

He is friendly with Frickley's Tom Johnston and could be in the squad for Saturday’s FA Carlsberg Trophy tie against North Ferriby.
He Tweeted: "Bin at Frickley F.C getting some physio!"
Meanwhile, Jake told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: “My main interests have always been football and singing.
“I don’t know why I didn’t study music at school because I have always interested in music.
“I was never in a band but used to always sing around the house and drive my mum mad.
“I taught myself how to play the guitar about a year ago and started writing my own songs about the same time.
“Music is my passion and something I really want to focus on now.”
