The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow.

Rain is expected to turn to sleet and snow during today (Saturday), more particularly on high ground, but with an increasing risk at lower levels.

Around 5 cm of snow could accumulate on roads above 200m, whilst there is also a risk of ice forming on power lines over high ground.

At low levels the main risk of snow is later on Saturday, and a lot of falling snow will melt on the ground, though some accumulations of 5 cm or more here could not be ruled out by late evening.
