Go-ahead given for Ashby Road developments in Scunthorpe which have created significant public interest
Decisions were taken by councillors on two Scunthorpe planning applications that have generated significant public interest in the Ashby Road area of town.
Meeting at Scunthorpe Civic Centre, North Lincolnshire Council's planning committee approved a pharmacy for the Cedar Medical Practice at 275 Ashby Road.
They also agreed that extensions and alterations can be carried out at Gresham Lodge - Nos 253 to 257.

A petition objecting to the proposal was submitted with 42 signatories from 24 neighbouring properties.
There were concerns about parking and additional traffic being generated.
The Gresham Lodge application resulted in five letters to the council.
One suggested "commercial development" would be out of keeping with the character of the surrounding area.
It was also suggested the gardens were part of the character of the area and should be retained.
Other decisions made by the committee included: CLEATHAM: Vary planning condition 10 to allow a marquee to be sited 12 times a year, Cleatham Hall. REFUSED.
BURTON STATHER: Erect a first floor extension, 28 Holme Drive. APPROVED.
