Gearing up for bike night

PREPARATIONS are well under way for the 13th annual Barton bike night.

The event will go ahead on Wednesday, July 8 thanks to the efforts of a new voluntary committee, set up in March to organise this prestigious event, after founder of the event Malc Bennett pulled out of organising it.

Committee member Barry Newton said: "Between us it has taken hundreds of voluntary hours to make sure the event goes ahead following all the appropriate health and safety rules but it has been worth it.

"Barton Bike Night means a lot to the town and its traders and to motorbike enthusiasts across the country and we did not want to loose it."
