The Dobbs team took an early lead of six shots to two and extended that to 8-3 with some determined bowling.

At this point, the Barnard squad started to produce some form, winning five out of the next seven ends to level at 10-10 with one end to play.

Barnard's team won the end with a single shot to take the victory, 11-10.

Trevor Smith's team still occupy top spot in Division Two, with Pat Whittingham's side in second and Roy Tuplin's team in third – all on 32 points.

There was an exciting finish between the teams of Rita Davey and John Parrott.

The latter took a 9-1 lead with some excellent play, but were unable to stop the Davey trio pulling the score back to 11-8.

However, in the final end, Davey's team only managed to score a single shot, handing their opponents an 11-9 win.

Division Three winners John Hopkinson's team are now 11 points ahead of Roy Janney's team, who are two in front of Mal Torn's side.

Maurice Addlesee's team faced a match against the team of Tony Pollard that was decided on a late, last-end score.

The Addlesee squad bolted out of the starting blocks and held the advantage halfway through, but the Simpson team started to edge their way back, drawing level at 11-11.

With the pressure on for the final end both teams played some good shots, but the Addlesee squad scored two to win this interesting game, 13-11.

Midweek Triple Division One has John Hopkinson's team firmly established at the top, with Trevor Smith's team in second, nine points adrift.

John Painter's team fought back from 15-2 down to the Pat Lowe trio, reducing the score to 17-16 with one end to play.

With some excellent play from both sides, Painter's team scored three shots to take the win, 19-17, completing a remarkable comeback.

There is no change in Division Two, with Warwick Wooldridge's team firmly in first place, three points clear of Joan Bolton's team.

There was a very close finish when the second-placed side took on Dave Gall's team.

The latter came back from 9-0 down, winning the next five consecutive ends to level.

They then took the lead for the first time when they scored three shots on the next.

But it wasn't to be as Bolton's team won the final two ends, scoring a single shot on each to run out 12-11 winners.

The Division Three table has Arthur Hewitt's team top, five points clear of John Parrott's team.

An excellent encounter took place between the leaders and Clive Sweeting's team.

Parrott's side were 7-4 behind but fought back to 11 each, before the match went to 12-12 with two ends to complete.

Both teams won an end each, scoring one shot each for a 13-13 result.
