Flood warden for Brigg

Tuesday, August 12, 2008, 07:00

A NEW role looks like coming the way of a Brigg town councillor, who is always keen to do his bit for the community.

Coun Ben Nobbs is in line to become the town's first flood warden.

He has attended a special course in Lincoln, organised by the Environment Agency, and is now studying a training manual.

Flood wardens help advise people living in low-lying areas when their homes are at risk from nearby rivers and streams – in the case of Brigg town centre, the River Ancholme.
