In this blog - updated regularly - Scunthorpe Telegraph production editor Nigel Fisher takes a personal look at life in Brigg - past and present. He has been a Brigg resident - man and boy - for more than half-a-century.

Nigel attended Glebe Road School and Brigg Grammar School. During a sporting career spanning more than 30 years he played for Brigg Town Cricket Club, Brigg Hockey Club, Ancholme Valley Royals Football Club and Black Bull FC. He is a former official of the Briggensians' Association and Brigg Amateur Social Historians.

His journalistic career includes a stint based in Brigg with the old Lincolnshire and South Humberside Times newspaper at 57 Wrawby Street.
