Move to cut speeding drivers
The Community Speed Watch scheme allows small towns and villages to buy flashing speed signs.
Town councillor John Tweedie told the meeting: "Villages and towns can ask for them to be put up by North Lincolnshire Council and they will be charged a rental."
Coun Tweedie said the minimum rental period was three months but he suggested teaming up with neighbouring villages.
"We could do it in conjunction with Scawby and Appleby and have it here for a month and then move it to another village," he said.
"We have three roads coming into Broughton and we might be able to move it around so police have an idea of which roads are the worst."
The national Community Speed Watch scheme has already been piloted locally, in Bonby.
A flashing speed sign has been installed there, letting motorists know how fast they are travelling.
Speeding has also been identified as a problem in the Gunness area, where North Lincolnshire Councillor Rob Waltham has launched three separate petitions against it.
