You can buy bacon direct from new Scunthorpe factory shop if planners give go-ahead
A Scunthorpe firm wants to sell its bacon products direct to the public - and its own staff - from a new unit on the outskirts of the town.
The Karro Food Group is seeking permission to use a metal container on Billet Lane, on the Foxhills industrial estate, for what it describes as a new development.
The container will house a shop from which the food processing firm wishes to sell bacon and pork products direct to customers.
Fridge-freezers will display the products on offer through cash sales.
It is planned to operate the shop from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Karro Food currently employs almost 400 people.
North Lincolnshire Council will consider the firm's planning application.
The authority will welcome comments from interested members of the public until April 3.
A decision it not expected to be made before early May.
