All clear given for demolition of Poacher pub in Scunthorpe

The Poacher pub in Scunthorpe can be knocked down, North Lincolnshire Council has confirmed.

Prior notification of the intention to demolish the building on Marsden Drive was lodged with the authority by Merryvale Developments.

But the council has decided that prior approval of the details of the demolition and clearance of the site is not required.

Head of development management, Phil Wallis, added: "The development may therefore be carried out in accordance with the details submitted with the application within a period of five years."

A report prepared by North Lincolnshire Council said the applicant was expecting to start redevelopment of the site as soon as possible after demolition.

The intention is to build starter home on the site, subject to approval being given by planners.
