“£300 for a headlight bulb blown is crazy, do they not know that some new cars the front end has to be removed or diagnostics computer connected to change a bulb so that would mean if a bulb goes it could mean a recovery truck to main dealer. I found this out when I could not access the front flasher bulb on a Peugeot Bipper and searched the web, Peugeot states 1.5 hours for 2 man job on ramps. Why are they allowed to build cars like this under construction and use regulations.
I even found a Swedish car that needs diagnostic computer to replace the battery, what limits will manufacturers go to to get work for their dealers.”

“I recently heard of someone who was only slightly over the speed limit but was fined for speeding BUT "if you pay half as much again and go on a course, you will get no points on your licence". Sounds like bribery to me. What the devil's the course about? He's been driving 25 years, never had an accident, is a brilliant driver and never been fined for anything before. Whilst it makes me very angry to think my insurance premium increases every year to cover other people's claims, I think it is high time insurance companies stopped charging such astronomical premiums for younger people and then perhaps there would not be so many without insurance.”

“Magistrates' courts are a drain on taxes - get rid. Time we also got rid of traffic wardens. For goodness sake deploy these people catching real criminals! You pay road tax to use the roads ! After all, it's the tax payers' money which has funded them in the first place !”

“i agree with ian brigg, us law abiding motorists are paying through the nose for insurance because of rubbish like troy clay, but then again look at the stock he comes from. never mind ***** footing round with non insured motorists. dont waste tax payers money on this ilk. give all uninsured motorists the maximum unpaid work permittable, which would be interisting as work isnt in most of thems vocabulary.”

    “@MrDrizzle,

A faulty exhaust system can allow gases to escape and enter the passenger compartment with potentially fatal circumstances, especially where children are being carried. That is totally different to the gases being safely exhausted to the rear of the vehicle.”

An exhaust is there to remove gases from the engine and vent into the atmosphere hence the hole at one end?”

“To sum up the last three posts, the poor old motorist is a soft target, to be milked for all he's worth, let the real criminals go scott free. Laughable and pathetic, nothing changes, does it?”

“It's always made me laugh has that one, giving somebody 3 or 6 points on a license they haven't got . . and probably have no intention of getting until the points run out

similar to giving someone an extra 20 hrs community service because they didn't do the first 40 hrs”

“What kind of world do these magistrates live in when they can fine someone who is driving with a blown headlamp bulb (£300) more than an 18 year old who is driving while disqualified and without insurance? And what is the point of endorsing his licence when he has already proved he is willing to drive while disqualified? I don't know why I bother buying insurance. What he has been fined is cheaper than my annual premium which really gets my goat.”
