“the facebook event is set up but its not looking like many people want to go. I think it might be to do with knowone has ever heard of the BRIDGE hotel because the younger people dont know it is called that or it exists. Am sure its called howdens isnt it? which part is it in because isnt there 3 different little bars there all in a row?
Im trying to get people to go this friday coming so i'll see how I do but Im not sure its going too well yet.”

“Last Friday I went to the first heat of this years Rock Open. Much to my surprise and disappointment there were no-one between the ages of 18 to 21 as far as I could see outside of the people in the bands.
We have teenagers in Scunthorpe don't we? Why was there none of them there. I'm pretty sure not all of them are One Direction fans so whats happening?
Do they even know that there are places that put on live original music in Scunthorpe? Back when I was a teenager we had Student Union cards giving us discounts off entry at the Baths for the Rock Open. It was the place to be seen. Do the colleges have a SU and does no-one tell them who or when bands are playing in Scunthorpe?
It's a complete mystery why I keep going to gigs and there are more band members than audience. It not the price as the Rock Open was just £2.50.
Are teenagers to afraid to leave their keyboards these days, or is it they don't like listening or watching live music unless it's been on Radio 1 first. Is there anyone under the age of 20 who can tell me the answer?”
