“Well it was another great night of bands and music. Good to see more younger faces enjoying themselves...but I still think there should be more. Hopefully all thoses who went will tell their friends to come to the next one and the final when it comes. With AMEIRA, BEAR MAKES NINJA,The COLLIERS and DARK MANTRA through it's looking good for any band whose name starts with E or F. Not seen a list yet so I don't know if there are any. P.S. we will wait till Thursdays ET to see if their review of the night does it justice.”

And is the next tomorrow because thats the date I was given?I managed to promote it a little but needs more but only because they liked & knew Ameira I went it was ashamed people left before the last band got to play that cant have been nice for them.Ameira where really good, I think I missed Bear makes Ninja. It needs to get more people but am glad to hear it was an improvement to usual as I dont usually go anymore.”

“This weekend is the Turn back the Clocks half dayer at the Bridge featuring local bands who all at one stage or another have appeared in the Rock Open over the years. It's going to be a sell out because everyone remembers their teen years watching Spoke and Duck In Fog and the The Shreddies and what a blast it was. I just find it odd that the parents and in some cases grandparents are more adventurous, rebellious and punk rock than the kids are today. It shouldn't be that way. It's always a case with me of 'How do you know you don't like them until you've been to watch them? ' It maybe people wrongly assume that these bands are just beginners but so far that's not been the case. The standard of bands today are equal to anything you hear on radio. Some of them are coming into this event with full albums recorded and professional Videos on Youtube. Complete with T-shirt and stickers. They enter these competitions not only to try and win but also to get new fans and future gigs in the area. People coming to the Rock Open are seeing the bands which are just about to break into the mainstream and if you come you'll get the bragging rights with your friends saying you saw them first before they were famous and the singer sold you their first cd in person (now it's worth a fortune etc) Kids don't miss out. Live a little... you might enjoy it.”

“I agree totally. Most of the bands I like are ones i've found at Rock Open over the years. But I know some peoples response is I dont wanna go see **** bands I dont know or I dont like rock. 1. How do they know they are **** if they dont go one time at least.2. Even if you dont like rock its not all rock & screaming its more the people & Atmosphere of a local gig.Ahh I see Im not sure i'll be able to make it to that but I may try actually sounds good. I tried taking some photos but my new camera was rubbish (sent it back).”
