175th Anniversary Epworth Mechanics Institute Library
EPWORTH MECHANICS INSTITUTE LIBRARY will be celebrating their 175th Year. This is the oldest secular orgainsation in Epworth. The library has lots of historical Information and holds the collection of Epworth Bells Newspaper dating back to 1872.
The day will combine a Timeline of events and history of the Institute since its founding in 1837. A Raffle , Tombola and booksale will be held to raise funds for the Library. The current fund raising is to restore the Epworth Bells collection to preserve it for fututre generations. Our premises at Manor court House Market Place Epworth date back to 1803 and is a Grade 2 listed building.
We would like to invite past and present members and everyone who would like to come and visit us. Our lending library holds 12000 books and membership is only £1 per year !
Please come and support this wonderful treasure trove of the Isle of Axholme.
The Event takes place from 10 am to 3pm Saturday 20th October 2012
