Retail and residential cocktail for Scunthorpe pub founded in Queen Victoria's reign
Redevelopment plans for what was once the second oldest pub in Scunthorpe are to be considered by North Lincolnshire Council.
Permission is being sought to change the use of the first floor at the Queens Public House, 123 Rowland Road.
The aim is to create four one-bedroom apartments.
The application includes an external steel staircase and alterations to "the ground floor facade."

North Lincolnshire Council will accept comments from interested members of the public up to March 13.
A decision on whether to approved the scheme is not expected before April.
Doncaster-based Belle Vue Properties has lodged the application.
The firm's agent, Max Designs, has produced an extensive study, which accompanies an outline application for the change of use of the Queens "to retail at ground floor including shopfront alterations."
Max Designs suggest: "The proposal for residential development to the first floor and alterations at ground floor to provide retail facilities and the Design and Access concepts and proposals of the scheme satisfy National and Local Planning Policy, Supplementary Planning Guidance and the broader requirements of the Building Regulations. More particularly, the scheme is appropriate in its context, improving both the character and quality of the surrounding area."
The Queens pub ceased trading in September 2008, having first opened its doors to local drinkers back in 1898.
It staked its place in local licensing history in 1975 when allowed to open at 6am - six days a week - to sell breakfast and beer, for two hours, to shift workers.
The Queens was also the first pub in Scunthorpe to host afternoon strip shows.
