NON-EXISTENT SERVICE, Good Food, DOES NOT CATER FOR LARGE PARTIES

We went for a 'Mothers Day' meal and as we arrived every member of staff we asked where our table was wondered off and never returned. The final girl we asked told us we were on TWO SEPARATE tables upstairs. We'd requested three high chairs and none where at the table so we had to hunt them down ourselves. After 20mins stood at the bar for carvery tickets we final got served. The food was lovely although the veg was on the cold side. We waited 40 minutes after finishing our meal and still nobody had cleared our plates away or asked us if we wanted desserts. When we finally got the attention of a waiter he took our order and still didn't clear our plates. In the end we stacked and moved the plates ourselves onto the empty tables. The desserts came minus one and by the time we'd found a member of staff to tell them we were one missing the rest of the party had finished eating. I have never had such bad service in a restaurant, there was clearly not enough staff to meet demand. I dread to think how they cope on days they have bar meals available as well as the carvery. Unfortunately for Arties Mill not one person out of the 16 adults that visited their restaurant today will be returning.

    Great for food

“Arties Mill at Brigg has a good menu with some nice things on it, it is not your run if the mill pub grub! I would recommend it, but you have to be really hungry their portions are huge! #bemyvalentine”

Gone downhill in past couple of years

“Used to enjoy visiting for a carvery, but now I don't think I'll ever go back given the last few times I've been have been very disappoitning. The place seems under-staffed, you have to wait an age for service and food if you're ordering from the bar menu - and staff seem to care very little about customer service. We once had a treacle sponge that had no treacle with it! The carvery room reaches about 100 degrees too if it's busy. Much better places available in my opinion.”

    Nice Sunday dinner

“We went here for a Sunday dinner, and thought we would travel the extra journey to go somewhere different. It is not how i expected it to be, but all in all the food was nice. it wasn't great weather, but if it was, it would have been nice to sit outside with the animals!!”

    Reasonable bar meals

“We called in at Arties Mill for a light tea. There were a selection of light snacks, and bar meals available. I opted for the haddock, while my partner selected something from the Special blackboard. The meal was nice for what it was, a bar meal, but if it's something a little more special you are looking for, I'd go further a field.”
