IT WAS a full house in the town's Gala Bingo centre yesterday when the 74 lucky winners of last week's £383,800 bonanza cracked open the champagne to celebrate.

The group of excited winners who yesterday collected their cheques, included chip shop owner Pamela Markham, whose cool £194,188 win led to her fellow 'bingo-ers' scooping £2,600 each.

Mrs Markham (58), won the High 5 jackpot – a game played simultaneously across Gala Bingo's 157 halls.

Defying all odds, she managed to complete a full house and finish on a number five to bag the prize.

As a result, the remaining £185,188 in the national pool was shared among the 73 other players in the hall.

Big winner Mrs Markham, who owns Markham's chippy on Messingham High Street with husband George (59), said she was still in shock, despite receiving the cheque.

"It's mind boggling to have won and it's hit home now that I have the cheque and have seen the figures," she said.

"It's so nice that everyone else got some winnings too as we've all celebrated together.and I'm sharing the winnings with my sister-in-law because we share everything."
