VOTE: A junior school is praised by Ofsted for their successful healthy living ethos
OFSTED inspectors have praised staff and pupils at a North Lincolnshire junior school for their successful healthy living ethos.
Leys Farm Junior School, on Park Avenue in Bottesford, was given a "good" grading by the education watchdog in a report released earlier this month.

FLOURISHING: Pupils are proud of the cabbages grown in their schoolâs fruit and vegetable garden.
Inspectors highlighted the pupils' understanding of how to stay healthy and the school's flourishing fruit and vegetable garden.
Headteacher Ewart Gibbs said the report was a credit to all of the pupils, staff, governors and parents.
"I am obviously very pleased the inspector noted the care that we have for the children and that the children have for each other," he said.
"I am very happy our approach to the curriculum was also noted as we are very proud of our garden, creative activities and the children's knowledge of healthy lifestyles."
The inspector hailed the effectiveness of the school's engagement with parents and care as "outstanding" and a pupil was quoted in the report saying: "It's brilliant here, all the staff care about you and help you to learn."
The school educates 119 children between the ages of seven and 11.
Inspector Rajinder Harrison praised the youngsters for their enthusiasm.
"Pupils understand how to stay healthy," she said.
"They are proud of the vegetables they grow and cook from their garden and they sell fruit and milk at break-times. Pupils are enthusiastic about the many sports clubs they attend.
"They understand the importance of caring for the environment and recycling 'so things don't run out'."
Areas which were identified in the report as ones for improvement were: pupils' progress in mathematics and science, and the effectiveness of leadership and management and its impact on improving pupils' achievement and raising standards in mathematics.
Mr Gibbs said strategies are already in place to develop these areas.
"All of the staff, governors and parents within school work together as a team," he said.
"Everyone is extremely committed and dedicated.
"We are pleased that the areas of improvement noted in the report had already been identified through our own self-evaluation.
"And we are already working hard to develop these areas."
Councillor Tony Gosling, cabinet member for children's services at North Lincolnshire Council, congratulated the school which holds a number of awards including, a Healthy Living Schools Award, Food For Life Award and the Eco Green Flag Award.
"I recently visited Leys Farm with gardener John Cavill to look at their wonderful garden," he said.
"I was given a really warm welcome from the staff and the children and I fully support Ofsted's findings."
