TWO weeks ago I emailed North Lincolnshire Council re travellers setting up camp on the field at the bottom of Lilac Avenue.

I have not received a reply, just an acknowledgement of receipt of my email. We have had four instances of this this summer, the last lot, as usual, leaving the field in a disgusting state, black bags and assorted litter just left for someone else to pick up, no doubt at council tax payers' expense.

I also wonder why they are allowed to drive their vehicles on and off the field as they like? If I, and all other car owners along the street, started taking a short cut across the field, throwing litter out as we went, I suspect we would soon get a visit from the constabulary. Is there one law for them and one for us?

I did ask in my letter to the council if they could put bollards across access points to the field to stop the caravans and vehicles getting on there, but they have chosen not to reply as yet.

Name and address supplied.
