Staff from the National Careers Service will be on hand to offer tips for all those looking for a new job, whether you are unemployed or already in employment.

Kimberly Wiles, operations manager at Scunthorpe's Jobcentre Plus, said: "Having a well-presented CV with all the relevant information on it can give jobseekers a much better chance of success when they are applying for jobs.

"The workshops will give general advice for employed and unemployed people who haven't got a CV or have a CV that needs updating.

"I would urge anyone looking for a new job to book a place."

Since the launch of our Your Life, Your Future campaign, our partners have worked to improve job prospects, increase aspiration and help ensure people have the right skills and knowledge to succeed in the jobs market.

And Councillor Liz Redfern, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, stressed the importance of the CV workshops.

She said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for people to get expert advice. A good CV gives you a head start when it comes to applying for jobs so if you think you would benefit from attending, don't delay. Make an appointment now."

And Tony Pickering, centre manager at The Parishes, said: "Everyone looking for a new job, whether they are unemployed or already in work, should make sure they have the best CV possible.

"It's one of the key things employers look at during the recruitment process."

Jobcentre Plus will stage the workshops at its Laneham Street offices, in conjunction with the National Careers Service.

There will be two workshops each day on Wednesday, January 30 and Wednesday, February 6, at 1pm and 2.30pm. To book, call 01724 274494.
