Detectives today released images of men they say may be able to assist with their inquiries following a sexual assault at Ethel Court in Scunthorpe between 7pm and 9pm on Wednesday, August 29.

A 43-year-old woman was walking home down an alleyway when she was approached by two men she did not know.

As she walked past the men, one of them is alleged to have grabbed hold of her and pushed her to the floor.

While on the floor the other man is alleged to have sexually assaulted the woman.

Following the incident she got up and ran along Mary Street.

The men are believed to have headed in the direction of Thompson Street and Station Road.

One of them is described as white, 5ft 8in tall with short dark-coloured hair.

He was of slim build, aged in his late 20s to early 30s and was wearing a black jacket and dark trousers.

He had a crooked nose and an earring in his right ear.

The other man is described as being older, of mixed race with short black curly hair.

Detectives believe the men pictured may have crucial information that will assist in identifying suspects for this offence.

The men in the images, and anyone else who may have information in connection with this incident, are asked to call Humberside Police tel 101 quoting crime reference 1927303.
