Christmas Day arrivals
THE first baby to be born at Scunthorpe General Hospital on Christmas Day had her name picked by ward midwives.
Sarah Wigham's baby girl drew her first breath at 12.45 am. But, as proud dad Roger explained, they had not yet decided on a name for their new baby as she was not due until January 5.

NEW SON: Barnetby couple David and Marie McDermott with their new son Matthew, who was born at Scunthorpe General Hospital at 12.40pm on Christmas Day, Matthew tipped the scales at 7lb 4oz.

NEWBORN: Lisa Busby with her son Kyle Steven Lee, who was born at Scunthorpe General Hospital at 12.35pm on Christmas Day. Kyle tipped the scales at 7lb 13oz.

TWINS: Julie McCool with her twins Hollie and Finlay Wayne, who were born in Scunthorpe General Hospital at 1.32am and 1.46am on Christmas Day.
Husband Roger, the boss of R & SW Joinery Ltd, said: "I just said to the midwives, if you put a name on a piece of paper and put it into a hat or bowl, we will pick it out – and that was what we did. Sarah picked out Melissa."
The couple were delighted with their choice and decided they would give her the middle name of May.
