Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 07:00

A MOTORBIKE rider is still too badly injured to talk to police about a fatal road crash near a North Lincolnshire motorway on Saturday.

He is one of three injured people, including a 20-month-old baby, who are being treated in three different hospitals.

A 43-year-old woman died at the scene when the car she was a front seat passenger in was in collision with a motorbike on A161 near Belton.

The Scunthorpe motorcyclist, aged 47, is being treated at Hull Royal Infirmary.

The baby suffered injuries to her skull and brain and is being treated at Sheffield Children's Hospital.

The child's mother, a 29-year-old, was moved to the intensive care unit Northern General Hospital in Sheffield on Monday with multiple injuries.

The crash, which involved a Citroen AX car and a Suzuki GSX 750 motorcycle, killed a 43-year-old Sheffield woman.

Her name has not yet been released by officers investigating the accident.

The car driver, a 47-year-old man, escaped with only a broken finger.

Humberside Police are continuing to investigate the causes of the collision, which happened near junction two of the M180 at about 2.50pm.

Anyone with information is asked to call 0845 60 60 222, quoting log 477 of August 23.
