Amy Adams' film Leap to Ireland

Amy Adams has told how much she enjoyed filming in Ireland for her new movie Leap Year.

The Doubt star has been shooting the romantic comedy, about a woman who plans to propose to her boyfriend on Leap Day, in the Emerald Isle with co-star Matthew Goode.

Amy told USA Today: "It's been amazing - we've gone out to the west and seen beautiful landscapes."

The 34-year-old actress revealed her character "is a very detail-oriented person who has her life planned out, and things sort of go off-course with the help of a very handsome, roguish Irishman."

Amy, who is engaged to actor Darren Le Gallo, can relate in some ways to her character's personality.

She said: "I can be that way about certain things - it's easier to do it yourself."

Leap Year, directed by Anand Tucker, is due out in early 2010.
