Infant school's outstanding award

FRODINGHAM Infant School has been praised at a celebratory event, organised by the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted).

About 300 headteachers attended the event, which took place on Tuesday, February 2, and was hosted by Christine Gilbert, Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills.

Judith Gray, headteacher of Frodingham Infants, said: "It was a privilege to attend the celebratory event in Manchester and meet with other head teacher colleagues who have also received an outstanding judgement," she said.

"It was further recognition of the superb work done by the whole school team.

"The event itself consisted of a glamorous champagne reception and a terrific three course lunch.

"It was wonderful to meet Her Majesty's Inspectors and speak to them about what they look for during Ofsted school inspections."

Frodingham Infants underwent an Ofsted inspection in November 2008.

It achieved an 'Outstanding' grade and the report highlighted the dedicated care and guidance by all staff which encourages pupils to love learning and develop the personal attributes that help pupils succeed.
