Police appeal after Crosby double stabbing

A MAN and a woman sustained knife wounds following an incident in Scunthorpe yesterday.

The pair, who have not been identified are currently being treated at Scunthorpe General Hospital.

It is not known how serious the injuries are.

A man is helping police with their enquiries.

A spokesman for Humberside Police explained officers were called to an address on Digby Street, Crosby, at 2.43pm on Saturday.

A section of Mulgrave Street, which is at the junction of Digby Street was cordoned off by police.

Forensics teams examined the scene of the crime yesterday.

Ambulance crews were called to the scene just before 3pm.

One resident who wished to remain anonymous said: "We saw the police vans and cars arrive on the road just before 3pm but we have no idea what has happened.

"It looks serious as there are so many officers at the junction and they have taped off the road."

Another resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I did not see what happened but you could see blood on the pavement outside the house."
