Friday, November 21, 2008, 12:18

AN INVESTIGATION has been launched following the 'unexplained' death of a 52-year-old woman.

The woman died in Scunthorpe General Hospital, at around 7pm on November 17 after being admitted the previous day.

Police were contacted by the hospital after the woman's death and detectives are now awaiting results of toxicology tests carried out during a Home Office post mortem.

A police spokeswoman said: "Police are treating her death as unexplained, the coroner has been informed and police will prepare a file for the coroner."

A 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl were arrested and interviewed by officers following the death.

They have since been released on police bail, pending the results of further tests from the post mortem.
