Saxby Wolds windfarm plans on display

Tuesday, November 18, 2008, 07:00

PLANS for a controversial windfarm are to go on display, kick-starting the first round of consultations.

An exhibition detailing plans to construct up to 21 turbines to tower above the rural landscape at Saxby Wolds, North Lincolnshire, will be open for public inspection.

The turbines, which each measure up to 70 metres in height with a blade span of 82 metres, could be in place as soon as 2012, if given the go-ahead by North Lincolnshire Council.

Developer Npower renewables, one of the UK's leading windfarm companies, has been leafleting nearby residents on the event.

Clare Wilson, Npower's regional development manager, said: "We will be presenting the most up-to-date information about the site, which could comprise up to 21 turbines."

Members of the public are invited to view the Saxby plans on:

Friday, November 28, 4pm-7pm, at Saxby All Saints Village Hall

Saturday, November 29, 10am-4pm, at Saxby All Saints Village Hall

Sunday, November 30, 10am-2.30pm, at Baysgarth House Museum, Barton-upon-Humber.
