Sharon Smith and Sonny the spaniel.
A special ceremony was held on Thursday at the council's Pittwood House headquarters, with awards handed out in five different categories.
And, as reported in the Scunthorpe Telegraph, they were not all human, with Sonny the recycling wonder dog also picking up a gong in the special award category.
The springer spaniel was trained to put rubbish he has scavenged into the bin, rather than ripping it up.
The dog's owner, Sharon Smith, of Meadow Road, Scunthorpe, said: "I am chuffed to pieces for him.
"When I put the entry form in, it was a bit tongue-in-cheek because I said a box of Bonios would be nice."
Other winners on the night included Melissa Holmes, 11, and Lydia Czabaniuk, 10, who have repeatedly picked up litter around Winteringham.
They were successful in the junior category at the awards ceremony.
Lydia said: "I didn't think we would win. It's amazing.
"We have done it for two years and once every school term, we go around Winteringham."
