Steel Workers Attend Cinema Summit

Tuesday, November 18, 2008, 12:00

STEEL workers have spent this morning in a special presentation about how Corus will survive the current global economic crisis.

Hundreds of employees have packed into Vue Cinema for the special showings, delivered by works site director Sean Lyons.

All employees will have the chance to see the presentation, which will be screened twice a day for the next two weeks.

Graham Brooks, deputy chairman of the works multi-works committee, was one of the first to make the trip to Vue.

He said: "A lot of people went along fearing the worst, but they came away feeling more assured after the works boss gave them the facts.

"It was an excellent presentation," he said.

The 90-minute briefing session called Weathering the Storm is the biggest-ever summit of the town's steelmen and women.

Well done Tony Blair! You knew just when to resign as Prime Minister, leaving Gordon Brown in the mess you created. However, Brown is not without criticism. The next election I will vote for the Monster Raving Loony Party.
