Weekend weather warning issued

Friday, November 21, 2008, 10:00

FREEZING winds and snow showers are expected to hit North Lincolnshire over the weekend.

A severe weather warning for Saturday has been issued by the Met Office which predicts 'heavy snow showers, strong winds and blizzard conditions at times'.

Experts have said temperatures will drop below zero tonight and are not predicted to pick up again until Sunday.

The wintry storms will be the first real taste of winter for the region, although by Sunday afternoon they are likely to have been replaced with some sunshine.

A Met Office warning claims: "There is a moderate risk of a severe weather event affecting parts of northern and eastern Scotland and many eastern coastal areas of England including North Lincolnshire.

"Heavy snow showers will bring accumulations of several centimetres in places, especially in the north and over hills, where strong winds will also give blizzard conditions at times."

Older people and anyone else particularly vulnerable to the cold snap have been advised to stay indoors and keep as warm as possible.

Well done Tony Blair! You knew just when to resign as Prime Minister, leaving Gordon Brown in the mess you created. However, Brown is not without criticism. The next election I will vote for the Monster Raving Loony Party.
