Woodland estate up for sale at £1.8-million

Saturday, October 25, 2008, 07:00

MANBY woods in Broughton are up for sale with a £1.8-million price tag and a plot of nearly 1,000 acres.

Wealthy naturalists have the opportunity to fight it out for the chance to own the site, which includes miles of protected forest and two sites of Special Scientific Interest.

The estate includes a five bedroom farmhouse as well as the lush grounds, which are a haven for hunters as well as conservationists.

Savils estate agents, in Lincoln, claim the woods, which are some of the largest in North Lincolnshire and Lincolnshire, could also be used for timber.

For those who fancy a slice of country life but are more cautious about the credit crunch, vendors are willing to break the sprawling estate up.

William Price, who is handling the sale on behalf of selling agent Savills, said: "The estate is available in up to five lots, and it includes a stone built farmhouse that requires refurbishment but would potentially make a superb family home."

Well done Tony Blair! You knew just when to resign as Prime Minister, leaving Gordon Brown in the mess you created. However, Brown is not without criticism. The next election I will vote for the Monster Raving Loony Party.
