North Lincs women buck jobs trend

WOMEN in North Lincolnshire are bucking a national trend that shows a dearth of high-powered females in the workplace.

The latest Equality and Human Rights Commission's (EHRC) Sex and Power report shows women across Great Britain are still struggling against a glass ceiling which has become 'more like reinforced concrete'.

But the number of women in managerial positions across North Lincolnshire is nearly equal to men in many organisations.

Some of the best performers were social landlord North Lincolnshire Homes, the local judiciary and the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

North Lincolnshire Homes employs 287 people and just over half (144) are women.

And just under half its 29-strong management team is female, with 14 women including the chief executive.

The Scunthorpe Telegraph:

employs 59 staff, 31 of whom are female.

There are seven managers and three are female.
