Ten offenders sentenced at Scunthorpe court

THE following cases were dealt with at North Lincolnshire Magistrates’ Court:

Darren Junior Dawson, 23, of Mulgrave Street, Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place. He was fined £75 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.

Jake Anthony Davison, 20, of Cambridge Avenue, Bottesford, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. He was fined £110 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.

Sam Ashley Lonsdale, 20, of Manby Road, Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. He was fined £225 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.

Shannon McAtee, 22, of Edwards Road, Scunthorpe, was found guilty of failing to comply with an abatement notice and remove an accumulation of household waste. She was fined £100 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £347.98.

Mark Anthony Cole, 39, of Plumtree Way, Scunthorpe, was found guilty of using a motor vehicle without third party insurance and failing to produce certificate of insurance as required by a police constable. He was fined £600, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15, costs of £85 and his licence was endorsed with six penalty points.

Mark Curtis, 48, of Fox Street, Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle while not wearing an adult seat belt. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £40.

Richard Scott White, 29, of Ashby Road, Scunthorpe, was found guilty of speeding and failing to provide information for alterations to address. He was fined £300, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15, costs of £85 and his licence was endorsed with three penalty points.

Stephen Stanley John Williams, 45, of Woodlands Gardens, Scunthorpe, was found guilty of using a motor vehicle without third party insurance and failing to produce licence and certificate of insurance for examination by a police constable. He was fined £800, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15, costs of £85 and his licence was endorsed with six penalty points.

Asam Ul-Haq, 24, of Mulberry Gardens, Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to failing to stop following an accident and driving without due care and attention. He was fined £290, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15, costs of £85 and his licence was endorsed with five penalty points.

Gareth James Jackson, 27, of Holydyke, Barton, pleaded guilty to being in possession of counterfeit currency notes and a controlled Class B drug. He was required to carry out unpaid work for 60 hours within the next 12 months and was ordered to pay costs of £85.

    “GeneGenie - You mention the motorist fined £800 "guilty of using a motor vehicle without third party insurance and failing to produce licence and certificate of insurance" you think that's too much??? If anyone can afford to buy a car - they know that they need to have a driving licence, that the car needs to be insured, taxed & tested! It's all or nothing - simple.............
    Or is that you just think that the other criminals aren't fined enough???”
