Nine offenders sentenced by Scunthorpe court

THE following cases were dealt with at North Lincolnshire Magistrates' Court:

Grant Graves , 21, of Cliff Street, Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. He was given a conditional discharge for six months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £85.

Antony Mark Radford , 23, of Dallison Road, Hibaldstow, was found guilty of failing to produce a driving licence, insurance certificate and test certificate for examination as required by a police constable and using a motor vehicle without third party insurance. He was fined £250, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15, costs of £85 and his licence was endorsed with six penalty points.

Ian Jeffrey Smith , 45, of Fox Street, Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to theft and failing to surrender to court bail. He was given a conditional discharge for six months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £85.

Sarah Anne Smith , 29, of Skelton Road, Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle while over the alcohol limit. She was required to participate in Women's Group for eight sessions, Driver Awareness for three days, attend appointments with the probation service, was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £85 and was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 36 months.

Thomas Anthony Gibbons , 23, of Dean Road, Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to taking a motor vehicle without consent, failing to report an accident, failing to stop following an accident, using a motor vehicle without third party insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence. He was committed to prison for eight weeks and disqualified from holding a driving licence for 18 months.

Kelly Marie Martin , 30, of Central Square, Brigg, pleaded guilty to using a motor vehicle without third party insurance. She was fined £224, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15, costs of £40 and her licence was endorsed with six penalty points.

Hazel Gregory , 32, of Ormsby Road, Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to assault. She was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £85.

Leon David Dent , 34, of Enderby Road, Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to speeding and failing to provide information regarding a change of address. He was fined £100, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15, costs of £40 and his licence was endorsed with three penalty points.

Robert Kyle Humpleby , 26, of Priory Road, Ashby, pleaded guilty to speeding. He was fined £275, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30, costs of £135 and his licence was endorsed with six penalty points.

    “GSMG I seriously doubt if the crimes figures are really massaged at all by your punitive effirts at putting up week old bald tyre offences. Nobody is fooled. Except in the Desert Rat and the Open Hearth maybe.”
