“Just to correct JohnJohn, Scunthorpe had more than two steelworks, more recently it had 3, Redbourn, App-Frod & Lysaght's but going back further it had 5 if you include Trent and Lindsey etc.”

“Yes nice to see the photographs of old Scunthorpe, All though Scunthorpe had two steel works and many homes and businesses burned coal the town in general looked a lot smarter with nice open spaces and children's play areas. Not at all like today's rubbish strewn broken glass littered graffiti spoiled children's play areas. The shops looked smarter and the town looked busier too, and so they tell us things have got better over the decades.”

“nice to see these pics of scunny, had many happy times there in the 60s i worked as a fireman on the railway at frodingham depot .use to go down the wortley disco met some lovely girls there i often wonder where they are now and what they are doing still have some friends in scunny and hope to get up there soon, roger charlton boston”
