poor food

“Poor food at top end prices. Go to plenty of restaurants in the area and london always go for quality not your usual chain but that would have been better than what we got served up here today first time here for an evening meal for a while but quite a lot for lunches and drinking but not again only 3 people in restaurant our table and 3 staff food was expensive not much of it and bland no sauce on starter just some dry chicken and oniono with no taste lacking seasoning main came just a piece of meat on a plate with a little sauce again bland no veg not even any garnish for £17.00to be told all veg is now extras due to the ammount of wastage .
At the end of the day the restaurant is above a pub with the noise of the pub coming up so at best a gastro pub at top retaurant prices been to them and paid extra for veg that not a problem but at this sort of pub I don't think you should be paying extra for your veg now tryiny to be above there station for pub grub.
Lost out on desert,coffee, other extras plus tip for 50p worth of veg.”

Too quiet and easily missed

“A la carte food, with a good quality menu offering different tastes/dishes to what you'll find anywhere else in the town centre. The only drawback is the size and location, tables are crammed in yet there's still so few of them, meaning it's difficult to get an atmosphere going. Fact it's above a pub as well lets it down. Have only been once, but would consider a return trip if others wanted to go.”

Gallows Restaurant

“The Gallows Restaurant is situated on Oswald Road in Scunthorpe. This restaurant is located on the upstairs floor of the Honest Lawyer pub and is open for business 7 days a week where they provide top food and excellent service.”

Can be overlooked

“On seeing this restaurant from the street it can be easily missed, as it is on the second floor of the pub. The food was very tasty and i'd definately go back, i did however feel that the restaurant played more of a second fiddle to the pub downstairs.”

Half a restaurant

“Although the food was decent, it did not feel like a restaurant, it felt like what it was - the second floor of a pub. The menu was limited, but the food we received was tasty. Needs more doing to make people aware it exists and also needs to give the restaurant more of a distinct character. ”
