buy local: Malcolm Clarkson of Scunthorpe Carpets Contractors who have signed up for the Telegraphs buy local campaign
The shop has been open in Trafford Street, Scunthorpe, for 21 years and its director, Malcolm Clarkson, said the outlet could provide customers with a full range of products.
He said: "We do all types of floor covering, from domestic to commercial.
"We do most ranges and I don't think there is a floor covering or carpet type we can't do."
Mr Clarkson said people who sign up for a Buy Local loyalty card would be entitled to savings on everything at the shop.
He said: "We are offering a ten per cent discount across the board.
"It is a good saving and you could save £150 on £1,500 worth of carpet.
"Even if you are just having a bedroom done for £120, you will still be saving £12."
The Buy Local campaign aims to encourage shoppers to use local, independent traders and help the region's economy prosper.
Mr Clarkson said he felt it was important for people to shop locally where possible. He said: "I always support my local shops if I can.
"You are keeping money in the local economy and it is not going to big businesses or going out of the town, it is staying in the town.
"If you buy from big companies, nine out of ten times the money goes out of town."
He said business at the shop was currently going well, despite the tough economic conditions and could be boosted further by the Buy Local initiative.
Mr Clarkson said: "We are not breaking records but we are doing okay.
"We don't expect to flourish much in this climate but we do all right.
"We have been here 21 years and I think the campaign just reminds people that we are still here."
