Based on a true story which later became the subject of a hit Broadway musical, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas comes to Scunthorpe’s Plowright Theatre.

This lively and entertaining show celebrates with song and dance the infamous brothel, The Chicken Ranch, managed by the ‘Madam’ Miss Mona.

A huge selection of culinary delights await at Epworth’s Autumn Food Fair on Saturday.

Following on from the great success of the Spring and Summer Food Fairs, Epworth once again plays host to food producers from across the area. A great selection of stalls will be on offer selling quality foods including fresh and rare breed meats, gourmet fishcakes, preserves and home-baked cakes.

Folk duo Megson will perform at Ropery Hall in Barton-Upon-Humber on Friday.

The husband and wife pairing of Stu and Debbie Hanna have been nominated three times in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and are winners of three Spiral Earth Awards.

The Baths Hall’s indie night Furnace returns this Saturday.

Local band Glanford - who are set to release their brand new EP this month - headline the event with support from Fateful and Jamie Carnie. DJs will take the party on into the night spinning tunes from The Stone Roses to The Vaccines.

More than 150 youngsters will showcase their talents on stage in the Local Children Matter production at the Grimsby Auditorium on Saturday.

The Halloween season starts early this year as zombie-infested stop-motion animation ParaNorman shuffles into cinemas this week.

The film follows Norman Babcock (Kodi Smit-McPhee), a boy with the ability to speak with the dead, who finds himself taking on ghosts and zombies to save his town from a centuries-old curse.
