After waking up to a blanket of snow the forecast for today is sunny spells and snow showers, with further slight accumulations likely.

However, the snow showers will become less frequent this afternoon, and so many places will end the day dry.

Tonight it will be generally dry with long clear periods, apart for perhaps an isolated light snow shower.

This will allow a widespread sharp frost to occur. Minimum Temperature -3 °C.

North Lincolnshire councillor Nigel Sherwood (Brigg and Wolds), cabinet member for highways and neighbourhoods, said: “We are following the weather forecast closely and monitoring conditions continuously.

“The gritting teams went out at 6pm last night and were out until 10pm.”
