Scunthorpe Utd: Reid admits defensive mistakes had become an issue for Iron
Defender Paul Reid believes Scunthorpe United have reached a turning point in their season.
Saturday's goal-less draw at Brentford can prove to be 'a real marker' for the rest of the campaign, according to the centre-back.

Paul Reid wants to see Scunthorpe build on their first clean-sheet of the season
Reid admits defensive wobbles had become an issue prior to the Iron's trip to Griffin Park, but hopes a clean-sheet will go some way towards eradicating them on a more permanent basis.
"For me, it gives us something to work on," he said.
"We've been conceding far too many goals, and goals which should be preventable as well.
"To get a clean-sheet is massive for me and hopefully the rest of the defenders.
"It gives you something to build on. And hopefully gives the lads in front of you confidence to know that if they can nick a goal, we've got the ability to keep a clean-sheet.
"Nobody goes out with the intention of making mistakes, but they have been happening and we have been conceding goals as a result of that.
"I thought the lads, not just the back four but the whole team, defended and worked really hard for each other on Saturday.
"If you work hard, you kind of make your own luck at times. That little mistake you can maybe get away with because you've earned the right to get away with it.
"But it was starting to become a little bit of an issue.
"We were 13 games in and hadn't kept a clean-sheet – that's the most I've ever gone by a long, long shot.
"It's nice to get that out the way and hopefully build on that.
"I was getting frustrated. I think it probably was playing on our minds.
"You could see the lads played well, then one mistake and suddenly we'd conceded a goal.
"It's nice to get that clean-sheet, it's been far too long coming.
"It has to be a turning point.
"There has to be less talk and clichés, saying we're going to do it.
"This needs to be the start of it. This needs to be a real marker put down.
"We're not going to win every game between now and the end of the season, but people should know they've been in a really tough game against us."

“I must agree with the first part of that PStoff, the number of corners turned and nearly theres that we've had is a bit frustrating now...
I don't really expect any drubbings, but not too many high hopes...mostly draws and slim losses with the infrequent win thrown in for good measure, lower mid-table still in January I thinks...”

“One swallow!!!! - remember we had turned a corner when Grant scored a few goals. How many more pan flashes do we have to endure from our under performing section of players.
One win before Xmas at Exeter, drubbings at the hands of County, Huddersfield and this weekend at MK. We will not be a real team again until we get rid of Bara's crud, Thompson and Collins.”
