Full-time: Scunthorpe United 0 AFC Wimbledon 1
Pressure on Scunthorpe United manager Alan Knill increased another notch as the were beaten in the first round of the FA Cup for the first time in 11 years.
They were the victims of a classic smash and grab raid at Glanford Park as League Two side AFC Wimbledon edged a tight replay courtesy of Luke Moore's 66th minute strike.

The Wombles executed a classic away performance, soaking up long periods of Scunthorpe pressure and packing their own penalty area before then breaking quickly.
Unfortunately the sucker punch proved to be a knockout blow.
The Iron's hopes of a rousing response to Saturday's dismal defeat against Hartlepool United failed to materialise.
There could be no doubting they were much brighter than three days previously, but again they lacked the necessary composure and conviction in the final third.
Wimbledon allowed their hosts plenty of possession, but rarely let them get goal side of a strong defence.
And despite being without their top two goalscorers – missing Christian Jolley through injury and only naming Jack Midsun on the bench – they were lively on the break, with pacy wide man Ryan Jackson particularly impressing.
He was caught by Niall Canavan, one of three changes made by Scunthorpe, on the edge of the penalty area early on, paving the way for a free-kick from which Sam Slocombe got down well to scoop away a shot from Sam Hatton.
It took United until the 17th minute to threaten and when Bobby Grant did well to nip in front of full-back Chris Bush to meet Andy Barcham's deep cross, his effort at goal was depressingly tame.
The same though also often applied to the away side's attacking presence.
Luke Moore brilliantly cut open the Iron back line 10 minutes before the break, but front man Charles Ademeno made a mess of his control as he entered the 18-yard box, allowing Canavan to clear.
The only other action of note during the opening 45 minutes saw Sammy Moore only just miss the angle of post and bar after being teed up 20 yards from goal.
After the break Scunthorpe tried to step up a gear, but found the visiting penalty area packed with yellow shirts.
Grant slipped and miscued when well-placed following good work out on the right-hand byline by Duffy and Barcham and the latter had a shot well held by visiting goalkeeper Seb Brown after turning his marker on the edge of the box.
Then came the sucker punch.
Pouring forward to try to break the deadlock, the Iron were caught out by a ball in from the left in the 66th minute.
Substitute Midson, brought on at the break, stabbed it goalwards, but was denied by Slocombe, yet with the goal gaping Luke Moore kept his cool to slot the rebound low into the bottom corner.
With the game slipping away, the Iron sent on Garry Thomspon and Oliver Norwood to try and salvage something.
The former came agonisingly close to making an immediate impact, but saw his shot across goal brilliantly palmed away by Brown after powering his way onto the end of a hopeful punt upfield.
Sadly, as it flew wide of the target it took Scunthorpe's chances of FA Cup progression with it.
These are troubled times indeed at Glanford Park.

“A few weeks ago I was all for Knill, thinking that he would need a year to sought things out. To be fair to him he's been unlucky with injuries to the lads he's brought in and I believe he will know the ones he needs to get rid. Ajose is a quandry, I can only presume that he likes to play along side a big lad, so is he here to play with Robertson?
While I am not calling for Knill's head things have recently changed that can only be down to the manager, for instance when Johnstone was in goal he would roll the ball to the full backs and we would try to play from the back.' now it's long balls all the time. Only a few a weeks ago, I like many thought the acquisition of a decent striker would solve the problem but now we dont have any creativity. Another worry is the confusion their seems to be at free-kicks and corners, surley this should have been sorted on the training pitch.
I am still backing Knill but things need to improve drastically and quickly, a two week break is coming up, lets hope he can sort things then.”

“The question is what has gone wrong?
The players brought in are more than capable.
They should have beaten Newcastle.
Now the same team is losing at home to Wimbledon.
I believe it must be fixable.
Its up to the players to do it.”

“A solid performance and improvement from Saturday. If things pick up like this, I would reward A.K with a new, improved contract. The way he manages from the touchline is simply outstanding. His laid back, 'chilled out' approach is only to be admired.
Similar qualities to a certain Jose Mourinho? Or dare I say Nigel Adkins?
I like to see low scoring games with emphasis on defence and that is exactly what A.K has brought to the club. Why attack when you can just pass and entertain the fans?
His tactical nous can only be appreciated by those within the game. A mere armchair fan like me could never appreciate the tactics of a man admired for his contributions to Rotherham.
Steve Wharton has only ever given his best for the club. We should not criticise the man. We should reward him. A statue for his efforts would be a fitting tribute to a man with the Iron in his heart.”

O'Connor with the rest of the midfield and the defence have been OK in recent weeks - they are being put under tremendous pressure by the weakest forward line in the club's history. They are unable to control the ball quickly, hold it up until midfield support is available and totally inept when it comes to putting it in the net - therefore the opponents quickly turn our poor attempts of attacks into threatening counter attacks.”

“The one good thing about Saturday was the 'inspect your balls' flyers. My girlfriend did, solely for medical purposes, during MOTD whist I ate crisps. It's ok we're a bit off it at the moment. It gives me hope that I too can still make it as a footballer. As all managers now say, we must take the positives out of Saturday ... well I bought some Scunthorpe United baubles ... beat that !”

O'Connor's performance over the last two games has been so dire I think in January we will have to pay some one to take him off our hands. If a club does offer money for him we should grab it before they change their mind.”

“Wharton told him to get shut to bring others in so he tells players to go. Three took up the offer the rest are still here. There lies the problem.
The other problem is Knill is not up to solving the above problem. A replacement would struggle. The only thing is paying up contracts because if we don't use some of the £2m we have made in the last 5 years to do it then the consequences will hit us harder financially over the coming years.”

“knill got to go in my opinion.... clueless tactically and players (with exception of O'Connor who is clearly playing for a move in January) are not playing for him. Need someone to come in and give them a rocket up their back sides and get the grafting again.... 2000 attendance!!!! getting back to old show ground days rapidly!!!”

“Clearly the manager has to accept some of the responsibility for shambolic situation we are currently facing but like us he must be wondering why his players, who looked as if they had potential earlier in the season, now appear so inept in all departments.
In his post match interview AK sounded totally dejected. He has a small squad and injuries to key players but he has to try something different.
I suggested on this forum last week that we should have brought Canavan on up front against Hartlepool to try and disrupt the back four. Interestingly this idea was mirrored by Lee Turnbull in his summariser's role for radio Humberside last night. All eyes will be on Robertson when he returns. I'm not optimistic about his capabilities but Knill should be afforded the opportunity for a run of games with him and Mozika in the squad (and hopefully Ryan)
The best we can expect this season, whoever is in charge, is to stay in this division. If the situation remains perilous in the new year, I would support a change of manager but for now I think we need to ride the storm.”
