The Iron striker, who has scored three times in five appearances, has been an integral part of his side's rise up the League One table after a slow start to the campaign.
His injury-time double spared Scunthorpe's blushes against Notts County in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in midweek and Hayes, believes the sky is the limit for the Iron if they can maintain their recent impressive showings.
"The way we're playing at the moment is really suiting me" Hayes told the Telegraph.
