The 26-year-old defender had an injection last week to try to clear up a troublesome groin injury.
He missed last Saturday's game at Stockport and looks set to sit it out again at the Withdean Stadium.
"Izzy trained yesterday with the first team for the first time, so that's a positive" said manager Nigel Adkins.
