Kenny Milne out for 'several months'

SCUNTHORPE United manager Nigel Adkins might be forced back into the transfer market following confirmation that centre-back Kenny Milne could be out of action until Christmas with cartilage trouble.

It leaves the Iron boss really sweating on the outcome of the scan which skipper Izzy Iriekpen underwent yesterday on his groin injury.

The results of that will be known later today - and if Iriekpen is also to be ruled out for any length of time, then Scunthorpe have a real problem at the centre of their defence.

They also have major injury worries elsewhere, with strikers Paul Hayes, Ben May and Jonathan Forte and midfield man Grant McCann all nursing ankle injuries.

"Our treatment room is like Emergency Ward 10" Adkins confessed.
