Olympic aces set to ride in region

THREE of Team GB's Olympic medallists are due to be in action in North Lincolnshire next month when the 2008 Tour of Britain cycle race passes through the region.

They are led by Bradley Wiggins who collected two gold medals in Beijing to add to the gold he also won in Athens four years ago.

Also expected to be in action is gold medal team pursuit member Geraint Thomas and Chris Newton, a bronze medalist in the points race.

Upwards of 10,000 fans are expected to line the route for the fifth stage of the Tour of Britain race when it crosses the Humber Bridge on Thursday, September 11.
