BEST wishes to anyone making comments on the demolition of the Crosby Hotel for a residential care home.

Earlier this year the plans for a very large care home on the site of St Andrew's Church in Old Brumby Street was approved by North Lincolnshire Council. The objections were against the ugliness and industrial shape and size of the building, which will dominate a pleasant residential street.

The council completely ignored the objections and petition raised by the local residents and although a good case was put forward, it was more then disappointing to see the reasonable wishes of the residents so casually dismissed.

It seems as if the council wants Scunthorpe to be an ugly town.
